Liguria.

 

Liguria is divided into four provinces: Genoa, La Spezia, Imperia and Savona. Regional capital is Genoa.

Some other towns in Liguria San Remo, Ventimiglia and Portofino.

Liguria is a narrow strip of land bounded by the sea on one side and the Alps and Apennines on the other side.

Genova.

 

Genova, the province and the capital is Genoa.

In the province there are 67 municipalities where we visited including Camogli, Rapallo, Chiavari and Portofino.

 

On World Heritage list includes Le Strade Nuove and the Palazzi dei Rollisystemet in Genoa.

La Spezia.

 

La Spezia is both the province and the capital of the province. The province is divided into 32 municipalities.

 

On World Heritage list includes Portovenere, Cinque Terre and the islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto with.

Imperia.

 

Imperia is both the province and even the capital of this.

The province is divided into 67 municipalities.

Savona.

 

Savona is a port city and comune in the northern Italian region of Liguria, capital of the province of Savona, in the Riviera di Ponente on the Mediterranean.

 

Savona used to be one of the prime locations in the Italian iron industry, iron works and foundries, shipbuilding, railway workshops, engineering shops and a brass foundry.

 

One of the most acclaimed former residents in Savona was the navigator Christopher Columbus, who cultivated land in the area while he wrote about his travels. "Columbus House", a house located in Savona hills, lay between vegetable gardens and fruit trees. It is one of several homes in Liguria found in connection with Columbus.

San Remo.

 

San Remo is a city on the Mediterranean coast of western Liguria in northwestern Italy. Founded in Roman times, has a population of 57,000, and is known as a tourist destination on the Italian Riviera. The city hosts many cultural events, such as the Sanremo Music Festival and the Milan - San Remo cycklel classic.

Portofino.

 

Portofino is an Italian fishing village and holiday resort known for its picturesque harbor and historically associated with celebrities and artistic visitors. It is a comune in the province of Genoa on the Italian Riviera. The town is grouped around the small harbor, and is famous for colorfully painted buildings lining the beach. Nearby beaches include Paraggi, Camogli, Chiavari, Lavagna and Sestri Levante.

Ventimiglia.

 

Ventimiglia is a town and comune in Liguria, northern Italy, in the province of Imperia. It is located 130 km southwest of Genoa by rail, and 7 km from the French-Italian border, on the Gulf of Genoa, with a small harbor at the mouth of the Roia river, which divides the city into two parts. Ventimiglia urban area has a population of 55,000.
