Spain is a nation geographically organized into 17 autonomous

regions and 2 autonomous cities. The autonomous regionern

is divided into provinces.

There are also six places of Spanish sovereignty along the African coast: the soberanía Plazas mayores (exklaverna Ceuta and Melilla) administered as autonomous areas, plazas de soberanía Menores (islands Islas Chafarinas, Peñón de Alhucemas, and Peñón de Vélez de la Gomera) is under direct Spanish administration. Provinces

The Spanish Kingdom are also divided into 50 provinces (Provincias). Autonomous regions grouping provinces (eg. As Extremadura consists of two provinces, Caceres and Badajoz). The autonomous regions of Asturias, the Balearic Islands, Cantabria, La Rioja, Navarra, Murcia and Madrid each consist of a single province.
